Big data and emerging technologies in travel behavior analysis

Speaker: Dr. Arefeh Nasri

BIO:
Dr. Arefeh Nasri is a Faculty Research Scientist at the National Center for Smart Growth (NCSG) at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has Master’s degree from Rutgers University in Urban and Regional Planning in 2009 and her Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park in 2016. Dr. Nasri has been involved in many projects funded by Federal Highway Administration, Maryland State Highway Administration, and the U.S. Department of Transportation within the past nine years. She has presented her work in many international workshops and conferences such as Transportation Research Board’s annual meeting, International Association for Travel Behavior Research Conference (IATBR) and World Symposium on Transportation and Land Use Research (WSTLUR) where she won the best overall paper awards in July 2011.
Her past and current research includes travel behavior analysis using big data, shared mobility analysis, and health benefit analysis of active transportation.
