Moses is a well-known Prophet and the famed founder the Jewish religion. Khizr, who is said in the Quran to have guided Moses in his travels, is the man who famously discovered the land of darkness, drank from the water of life that ran through it, and became immortal as a result. As his name indicates he is associated with the color green and is supposed to turn any ground he steps on into one covered by green growths of various kinds. In some oriental legends and myths, Khizr is said to have been a minister to the world-renowned Alexander (Iskandar) as well.
