Also known as Yaj`juj and Ma`juj in Persian, are named as descendants of Noah and as Antichrist in various places in the Bible. In Persian literature the names refer most generally to tribes of Turkic Scythians to the east of the Iranian plateau, are usually described as enemies of Iranians and are described as something between animal and human. The words also describe individuals associated with these peoples and are described differently, most often in diverse ugly and disgusting ways. They are, in effect, embodiments of evil.
