Vahid Golkhou is a Moore-Sloan Foundation Fellow and Washington Research Foundation (WRF) Fellow in Data Science Innovation at the eScience Institute of the University of Washington (UW). He is also a Research Scientist at the Data Intensive Research in Astrophysics and Cosmology (DiRAC) Institute in Astronomy Department at UW. He studies the origin of high-energy astrophysical transients, particularly Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs), and using such transients as astrophysical probes. He is also an experimentalist focusing on robotic telescopes, data mining, and novel technologies for transient detection and follow-up.
